A Tiny New AI Model That Can Think Locally

A developer just released a new AI model based on OpenBMB's MiniCPM5-1B. It was trained using data from Claude Fable 5. The result is a very small tool that fits easily on most devices.
This model is only 657MB in size. Even with its small footprint, it supports a large 128K context window. It also displays its reasoning process so you can see how it reaches an answer.
While this is an impressive project, there are some questions about the licensing. We looked at the details on Hugging Face to see how it performs. It is a creative step forward for running smart AI directly on your own hardware.
