AI helps judges clear court backlogs
July 21, 2026

Researchers tested an AI assistant with over 1,500 judges in Pakistan. They found that the tool helped clear cases 6 percent faster on average.
However, the results depended entirely on training. Judges who did not learn how to use the software saw almost no improvement in their work.
When used correctly, the system provided a huge financial return. For every dollar spent on the project, the court system saved nearly 40 dollars.
