AMD Buys Startup to Build Faster AI Chips

AMD just bought a startup called Taalas. Instead of running software on a chip, they burn the AI model directly into the hardware. This design makes the chips incredibly fast.

During a test, this new tech ran a popular AI model at a record speed. It processed over 16,000 words every second for a single user. This is a massive jump in performance compared to standard chips.

This approach has one major trade-off. Each chip is built for just one model and cannot be updated later. Google is reportedly looking into similar technology to speed up their own AI tools.
