Are Restaurants Overhyped on AI?

Big names are struggling with new technology. Starbucks recently stopped using a system that tracked inventory because it did not work well. Meanwhile, Pizza Hut is facing a lawsuit because their required AI tools caused major issues in many stores.
These problems show that technology is often pushed onto businesses before it is truly ready. Operators are tired of paying for tools that create more work instead of solving problems. The hype does not always match the reality of how these systems function in a busy kitchen.
It is time for the industry to step back and ask if these tools are worth the cost. Owners should prioritize simple solutions that actually make the workday easier. If a system makes things more complicated, it is probably not worth keeping.
