ChatGPT can now remember your computer activity

The new feature for Mac users records your clicks and keystrokes throughout the day. It turns this activity into a timeline that you can search through inside ChatGPT. This is meant to help you find information you looked at earlier.

OpenAI saves this data as simple text files directly on your computer. They claim the raw data is not used to train their models. You should still be careful because anything you choose to share with the chatbot during a conversation could be used for training later.

This tool is useful if you struggle to remember where you saw a specific piece of information. Just keep in mind that giving an AI access to everything you do on your computer involves significant privacy trade-offs.
