Claude can now help design new drugs

The company used its Claude models to design small proteins that attach to specific targets in the body. This is a vital step in creating new treatments for diseases. The AI managed the entire process on its own by guiding existing scientific tools.
Results show that these AI designs were successful up to 35 percent of the time. This is much better than the typical industry success rate of 10 to 15 percent. It suggests that AI could speed up drug discovery significantly.
Other labs can now use this same method for their own research. Experts are currently reviewing these findings to confirm the results. This approach could change how scientists develop medicine in the future.
