Claude Code is fast but expensive

A new test compared four different agent frameworks using thirty real tasks. The results show that most frameworks finish the work with similar success rates. However, the price difference between them is quite large.
OpenCode emerged as the most affordable option at about seven cents per task. In comparison, Claude Code costs nearly twenty cents for the same work. This is true even though Claude Code uses fewer tokens to reach the finish line.
Ultimately, choosing the right tool comes down to your budget and how much you value speed. If you need the fastest results, you will pay a premium. Otherwise, cheaper options get the job done just as well for less money.
