Claude Code usage limits are actually getting smaller

Anthropic is adjusting the weekly limits for its coding tool. They are ending a temporary bonus that doubled your capacity. This bonus expires on September 14.

They plan to add a permanent 25 percent increase to the standard limit starting soon. Even with this addition, users will have about 17 percent less total access than they had with the temporary boost.

The company says these changes will provide better data on how much you have used. They want to be more clear about remaining credits. You will need to manage your messages more carefully moving forward.
