Cohere Launches New Tool to Convert Documents to Markdown

Cohere just released Parse 5. This small model can take your PDFs, slides, and images and turn them into clean Markdown files. It also captures HTML tables and describes the images found within your documents.
You can use this tool through their API for about 1.50 dollars per 1,000 pages. For companies that need more privacy or control, they offer dedicated hosting options starting at 2,500 dollars a month.
Cohere says this model outperforms competitors like Azure and Mistral on key tests. While the results look promising, keep in mind that their testing ignored some complex features like charts. It is a solid choice if you need to digitize large amounts of paperwork quickly.
