Google Gemma Hits One Billion Downloads

Google reports that their Gemma models have been downloaded over one billion times. This milestone comes just two years after the family of models was first released to the public.

Developers have been busy building their own versions of the software. In total, people have created more than 100,000 unique variations based on the original code.

This growth shows how many people are using open tools for their projects. Google says this is the first time they have shared a total count for these specific models.
