Google pulls AI tool after users create fake satellite images
Google recently launched an AI tool called Nano Banana 2. It was meant to help create satellite imagery within Google Earth. The company quickly took it down after people realized how easy it was to abuse.
Users showed that the tool could generate fake scenes with simple prompts. One person created a fake image of a refugee group standing in an empty field. This proved the tool was dangerous because it could spread false information about real locations.
Google has not shared a long explanation for the removal yet. They clearly wanted to avoid the risk of people using their technology to spread lies. It is another example of why big tech companies are struggling to keep AI tools safe.
