IBM Launches New Granite 4.2 Models

IBM just launched the Granite 4.2 model family. You can choose from three different sizes ranging from 3B to 30B parameters. The models are released under the Apache 2.0 license so they are free for you to use.
These models feature a built-in switch that lets you choose between quick responses or deeper thinking. They also have native tool calling built right in. This makes it easier for the AI to interact with your other software programs.
The larger models were trained specifically to handle coding tasks and web searches. They performed well in recent tests where they had to solve real software engineering problems. These tools are ready to help you build smarter business agents.
