Israel Announces Major National AI Plan

The Israeli government released a new five-year strategy to boost its technology sector. The plan focuses on building powerful domestic computing infrastructure from the ground up.
Key goals include installing at least 100,000 advanced AI accelerators. The country also plans to build its own quantum computer and a factory to make advanced computer chips.
The National Artificial Intelligence Directorate published the strategy on August 13, 2026. This group will lead the effort from inside the Prime Minister's Office.
