Mistral releases a small, smart AI safety tool

Mistral just released a tiny AI model called Shieldstral. It acts as a guard for other AI systems by checking for safety issues. Even though it is very small, it performs just as well as models seven times its size.
Most safety tools rely on rigid, pre-set categories. This new model works differently by answering simple yes or no questions about content. This allows you to set your own specific rules for what is acceptable.
You can run this model on your own hardware instead of relying on a cloud service. It gives developers more control over their AI while keeping everything private and fast.
