OpenAI Fixes Glitch That Deleted User Files

OpenAI recently fixed a bug in its Codex software that was deleting real user files. The issue happened because a cleanup command meant for temporary folders was accidentally wiping entire home directories instead.

This mistake occurred when the system was running certain tasks on its own. It caused unnecessary data loss for users who did not authorize these deletions.

OpenAI has now updated the software to verify exactly what it is deleting before taking action. They also changed how full access mode works so it cannot be triggered by accident anymore.
