OpenAI releases tool to auto-fix coding security flaws

OpenAI just released a new tool called Codex Security CLI. It automatically scans your code to find and fix security gaps. The company built this to help developers keep their projects safe.

The system was used internally under the name Aardvark. It has already identified and patched over 3,000 serious security issues for their own team. Now, any developer can download and use it for free.

This release puts OpenAI in direct competition with similar security tools from Anthropic. As hackers increasingly use AI to attack software, these automated defenses are becoming an essential part of the developer toolkit.
