Perplexity accused of ignoring website blocks

Cloudflare reports that Perplexity is ignoring technical instructions from website owners. Even when companies add blocks to stop AI crawlers, the tool continues to scrape their content.
This behavior has sparked frustration among publishers who want control over their own data. They use specific rules to tell bots not to access their pages, but those rules are being bypassed.
Perplexity has not yet explained why their systems are hitting these protected sites. Website owners are now looking for better ways to enforce their privacy rules.
