Perplexity Revenue Jumps After Free Offer Ends in India

Perplexity recently ended a year long deal that gave Airtel users free access to its Pro service. Many people expected revenue to drop when the giveaway stopped. Instead the company saw a sixty percent increase in income from the app.
Downloads for the app fell sharply once the free offer disappeared. Even with fewer new users the remaining customers are now paying for the service. This suggests that the free trial successfully hooked enough people to build a paying user base.
The data comes from market research firm Sensor Tower. It highlights how the company is moving from growth through freebies to actual profit. Perplexity is now banking on its loyal users to sustain its business in the Indian market.
