Private Claude chats were visible on Google

People discovered that links to their private Claude chats appeared in Google search results. This happened because the pages were missing a specific instruction that tells search engines not to list them.

Some of the exposed conversations included sensitive information like crypto keys and legal questions. Users could find these chats simply by searching for specific terms on Google.

OpenAI faced the exact same problem with ChatGPT last year. Anthropic has addressed the issue, but it serves as a reminder to be careful about what you share online.
