Qualcomm Buys AI Startup Modular
Qualcomm finished buying Modular on July 29. The two companies reached an agreement just five weeks ago. Qualcomm paid for the company using its own stock.
Modular is well known for creating the Mojo programming language. This move helps Qualcomm improve how its chips handle artificial intelligence software.
Modular co-founder Chris Lattner is joining Qualcomm as an executive vice president. He will now lead the team focused on advanced AI software and platforms.
