The Real Challenge for AI Robots

Most robot demos we see today are just one-off prototypes. Building one machine that works is a huge engineering achievement. However, building thousands of identical units is an entirely different task.
A real product must be affordable and reliable for everyday use. It cannot require a team of experts to fix it every time something goes wrong. Most companies are not yet ready to handle this level of manufacturing.
We need to stop focusing only on smart software and start focusing on the hardware. Making robots that are durable and cheap to build is the next big hurdle for the industry.
